Africa Mission Trip Testimony

This Sunday’s service at Forward Church looked different than usual—but it was exactly what
many hearts needed.

Instead of beginning with a traditional sermon, Pastor Justin invited the congregation to slow
down, partner together, and pray for one another. The sanctuary quickly transformed into a
room filled with conversations, encouragement, and heartfelt prayer as church members lifted
one another before the Lord.

It served as a powerful reminder that church isn’t simply something
we attend each week—it’s a family that walks through life together.

Throughout the service, the church also prayed for those seeking healing, anyone desiring the
baptism of the Holy Spirit, and people in need of restoration and reconciliation with God or
others. Pastor Justin encouraged everyone to remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit rather than
feeling confined by a schedule or routine, allowing God to minister freely throughout the
morning.

Celebrating What God Did in Africa

The heart of the service centered around testimonies from the recent mission trip to Lesotho,
South Africa.

Members of the missions team shared stories from their twelve-day journey, describing how
God worked in ways they never expected. While the original goal included helping establish
churches and strengthen ministry efforts, they quickly discovered that God was doing something much deeper,

building relationships that will have a lasting Kingdom impact.

One of the most exciting reports came from a village where approximately forty people
responded to the Gospel after hearing the message of Jesus Christ. Team members also
shared stories of praying with families, ministering to children, encouraging local believers, and
witnessing God move through simple conversations and acts of obedience.

Relationships Before Projects

Several testimonies highlighted how God continually redirected the team’s plans.
Rather than forcing projects forward, they learned to slow down, build trust, and invest in people first.

Those relationships opened doors that no construction project alone ever could.

One especially encouraging moment came as the team shared how a local believer named
Motabang committed to pastoring a future church in his village after months of intentional
discipleship and relationship-building. It became a tangible reminder that lasting ministry always grows through faithful investment in people.

Every Believer Is Living on Mission

As the testimonies concluded, Pastor Justin reflected on how the trip changed him personally.

Although he traveled expecting to serve others, he returned realizing that God had transformed his own perspective.

Rather than trying to control every plan and schedule, he learned the importance of remaining flexible and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead each step.

He challenged the church not to wait for extraordinary opportunities but to recognize that God often works through ordinary moments of obedience.

Every conversation.
Every workplace.
Every neighborhood.
Every relationship.

Each one is an opportunity for God to use His people.

Looking Beyond Sunday Morning

Pastor Justin closed the service with a vision for the future of Forward Church.

Rather than viewing Sunday mornings as the primary moment where God moves, he
encouraged the church to see each service as a celebration of everything God has already
been doing throughout the week.

Following Jesus isn’t confined to a building.

It’s a daily lifestyle.

As believers learn to follow the Holy Spirit in everyday life, ordinary moments become
opportunities for God to transform lives, strengthen communities, and advance His Kingdom.
