Every life tells a story.

The question isn’t whether your life will leave a testimony.

The question is: What will your testimony say?

On Father’s Day, we often reflect on the influence fathers, mothers, mentors, and spiritual
leaders have on the next generation. Yet the greatest legacy anyone leaves behind is not
money, possessions, accomplishments, or success.

The greatest legacy is a life that points people toward Jesus.

This message explored the lives of several kings from the book of Chronicles and challenged us
to consider a sobering question:

How do you leave a godly legacy?

Success Is Not the Same as Faithfulness

One of the central figures in this message was King Uzziah.

By every worldly measure, Uzziah was successful.

He led military victories.

He strengthened the nation.

He built defenses.

He gained influence and recognition.

However, Scripture reveals a dangerous turning point.

When Uzziah became strong, pride entered his heart.

And eventually, that pride led him into disobedience.

This reminds us of something important:

Success and faithfulness are not the same thing.

Many people survive hardship.

Far fewer survive success.

Because success often tempts us to believe we no longer need God.

A Legacy Is Built One Decision at a Time

Most people think legacy is built in big moments.

The truth is that legacy is built in daily decisions.

Small choices.

Consistent actions.

Faithful obedience.

Uzziah’s downfall was not one isolated moment. It was the result of pride growing unchecked
over time.

The same principle works in reverse.

Faithfulness is rarely built in one dramatic decision.

It’s built through:

● daily prayer
● daily obedience
● daily humility
● daily surrender

One decision at a time.

Your Children Will Remember More Than Your
Words

One of the strongest themes of this message was the power of example.

Children may forget many of the things we say.

But they remember how we live.

They remember:

● how we respond to adversity
● how we treat people
● how we worship
● how we pray
● how we handle success
● how we handle failure

More is caught than taught.

And often, the testimony we leave behind speaks louder than any lesson we ever teach.

Faithfulness Matters More Than Accomplishment

In today’s culture, people are often measured by success.

Titles.

Influence.

Followers.

Achievements.

But heaven measures differently.

Throughout the message, we were reminded that when Jesus welcomes His people home, He
doesn’t say:

“Well done, good and successful servant.”

He says:

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Faithfulness is what heaven celebrates.

Not popularity.

Not influence.

Not accomplishments.

Faithfulness.

The Empty Tomb Changes Everything

As the message shifted toward the Gospel, we were reminded that every tomb tells a story.

The kings of Judah left testimonies through how they lived and how they finished.

But there is one tomb that stands above all others.

An empty tomb.

Because Jesus lived perfectly, died sacrificially, and rose victoriously, our failures do not have to
define us.

Through Christ:

● failure can be forgiven
● pride can be broken
● hearts can be restored
● stories can be redeemed

The empty tomb reminds us that no matter how far we’ve fallen, God still offers grace.

Finishing Well Matters Most

One of the strongest challenges from this message was simple:

Start strong.

But don’t stop there.

Finish well.

Many people begin with passion.

Many begin with excitement.

Many begin with good intentions.

Yet faithfulness is proven over time.

Finishing well means continuing to trust God when life becomes difficult.

Finishing well means remaining humble when success arrives.

Finishing well means continuing to follow Jesus regardless of circumstances.
