Feeling Broken or Stuck? God is the God of the Comeback

There are moments in life when it feels like something has been cut down.

Sometimes it’s because of our own choices. Other times it’s things we never saw coming. But either way, the result feels the same—something that once had life now feels broken, stalled, or beyond repair.

It can leave us wondering, Is it too late for me? or Can God really fix what’s been broken in my life?

If you’ve ever felt that way, you’re not alone.

In this message, we’re reminded of a truth that sits at the center of Easter: God is the God of the comeback.

Pastor Justin painted a picture from Scripture of a tree that had been completely cut down. Not trimmed or pruned, but reduced to a stump. From a human perspective, it looks finished. Like there’s nothing left to work with.

But Scripture says something different: “There is hope… that it will sprout again.”

Even when it looks dead.

Even when it feels finished.
God still sees possibility.

That’s the difference between how we see our lives and how God sees them.

We often see failure, regret, and finality.
God sees potential, restoration, and new life.

And sometimes, all it takes is one moment in His presence.

Job goes on to describe how even the scent of water can cause something dead to begin growing again. That’s how powerful God’s presence is. When He draws near, things begin to change.

Hope begins to rise again.
Faith begins to rise again.
Joy begins to rise again.

That’s why Easter matters.

Because Easter is the ultimate comeback story.

Jesus was crucified, buried, and left in a tomb. From every human perspective, the story was over. But three days later, everything changed. He rose again—and because He lives, new life is still possible today.

That means your story isn’t finished either.

Throughout Scripture, we see Jesus meeting people in their lowest moments and giving them a new beginning. One of those moments is found in Luke 7, where a woman known only by her past comes to Jesus completely broken.

Everyone else saw her for what she had done.
Jesus saw her for who she could become.

And when she came to Him honestly, everything changed. She wasn’t turned away. She was forgiven, restored, and given a new future.

Because that’s what Jesus does.

He doesn’t wait for you to have everything together. He meets you right where you are.

And this is where the message becomes personal.

Because the comeback doesn’t begin with trying harder. It begins with surrender.

Not perfection. Not performance. Just honesty.

God isn’t looking for perfect people. He responds to open hearts.

So if you’ve been feeling stuck, discouraged, or defined by your past, hear this clearly: you are
not beyond repair.

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is still at work today.

Dead things can live again.
Hope can rise again.
Your life can begin again.

And if God can bring Jesus out of the grave, He can bring you into something new too.

So wherever you find yourself today, know this:

Your story isn’t over.
Your life isn’t finished.
And with God, a comeback is always possible.
